Genius of the day: 74 years old man sued FIFA for one billion euros
Dear Readers, we have to admit that we have offered you a lot of crazy men so far in our category “Genius of the day”, but this one that we are going to introduce you is a real talent.
Yesterday BBC reported the news that a famous Colombian lawyer, the 74-year-old Aurelio Jimenez, had sued FIFA for one billion euros because of the stress he had suffered for the referees’ calls during the last Brazilian World Cup. This stress would have worsened his already existing cardiac problems, in particular the sue is about the match of the Quarter-finals between Brazil and Colombia and the decisions of the Spanish referee Velasco Carballo.
The lawyer told about grotesque scenes, he declared to BBC that he got sick while he was watching the match on TV, because he suffered an alteration of cardiac rhythm and his relatives were forced to took him to the hospital while his grandchildren, worried about the scene, were crying around him.
Moreover the lawyer Aurelio Jimenez asked the Civil Court of Calì to summon as witnesses Pelè, Maradona and the Colombian rising star James Rodriguez (just signed by Real Madrid) to prove his reasons. In case of victory, the sprightly 74-year-old man promised that he would donate all the money to a non-profit organization involved in improving the welfare of Colombia’s children.
Despite his problems, our Aurelio is very big-hearted !
