Review: Denmark – 2013/14 Superligaen – 30th Matchday – FC København vs Bröndby IF
Last weekend in Copenhagen the third, and last, seasonal Derby between FC København (at home) and Bröndby IF was played at Parken (capacity: 38.000) in front of 32.846 spectators.
After the choreos, in which the home fans destroyed BIF stadium bombing it with cannon balls (watch the video above), the match started, but during First Half almost nothing happened, just an header from the home side that ended just above the bar.
The Second Half was much more interesting, because FCK went close twice with two headers: in the most interesting one Lukas Hradecky, BIF’s Finnish goalkeeper, made a great save on Igor Vetokele, an Angolan born-Belgian naturalized striker.
At 73′ Bröndby IF took the lead with a goal from the Paraguaian José Núñez, who netted, thanks to Kris Stadsgaard‘s careless surveillance, a deflection from the goalkeeper, who had saved a shot from Zimbabwean winger Quincy Antipas, who had finalized a counterattack.
At 88′ FCK almost tied the game when the Austrian defender Georg Magreitter headed to the bar, but at 91′, despite the game looked cursed for them, the home side equalized thanks to a Thomas Delaney’s header: the fact that all FCK’s best chances were headers can mean both that they are very strong when the ball is in the air, and that they lack of alternative offensive solutions.
Gli highlights dell’incontro.
This draw ended both FCK’s and BIF’s hopes to win the Title and/or to play Champions League next Season: the two Clubs from the Capital started this Season very poorly and then improved, but not enough, so they’ll have to “battle” for third and fourth place, that will grant them the right to play in Europa League Qualifying Rounds, while FC Midtjylland and Aalborg BK, that currently are paired at the top the table with 55 points (8 more than FCK and BIF), will fight for the Title with three matchdays still to be played !
