Mikael Forssell scared by cat, he (almost) misses training !

This story about Mikael Forssell, Finnish stiker of Vfl Bochum, a team from German 2.Bundesliga, looks unbelievable !

Last Tuesday (November 19) the footballer almost arrived late at training, or maybe missed it (it’s unclear as there are several versions) beacuse of a crazy unexpected event: a wild beast was placed in front of his car and didn’t allow him to enter the vehicle to reach his teammates at the training ground.
That mighty animal was actually a normal (very hairy) cat, that had been in Forssell’s backyard and had rubbed against a tire of his car for at least 20 minutes; nothing strange so far, but the player is allergic to cats, and, we suppose, he has a phobia as well, and so he was so scared by the animal that he couldn’t approach his car and he managed just to take few pictures with his phone, posting those on Twitter, until the cat decided to find another hobby.

We wanted to include Mikael Forssell in ”The Genius of the Day” column, but we decided not to do so because Ailurophobia can be a kind of illness: we don’t know, if he had been late at the training, if Bochum fined him or understood his reasons: you could try to use this story to justify yourselves when you are late, but we aren’t too sure it would work.

There was a lot of irony in the comments on Forssell’s Twitter post: someone remembered him that the allergy didn’t stop him against the Black Cats (the nickname of Sunderland AFC), someone else advised him to call the Fire Brigade, to purchase a second car in case of another “cat emergency” or asked him if he was allergic to taxis as well !
